Today's gospel reading is a hot-button issue for some non-Catholic Christians. But it is central to the identity and mission of the Catholic Church. The conversation of Christ with St Peter at Caesarea Philippi is the moment when Our Lord reveals His divine plan for the structure of the Church. It is to be led by Peter (and his successors) who will be the Vicar of Christ, acting in His name and with His authority. This is powerful and important stuff; and something every Catholic needs to know and needs to know how to explain.

Also if you would like to support me in this work, please send me an email and I will provide details for how you can make a donation. After a very unsatisfactory experience with Buy Me A Coffee, I would prefer to handle this directly myself. Thank you.
